Arsenal Goalkeeper David Raya Reveals Ambition for La Liga Move

Arsenal goalkeeper David Raya has expressed his desire to play in La Liga in the future, admitting that he would love to experience the Spanish league.

Recent Form and Praise

The Spain international joined Arsenal initially on loan in 2023 before completing a permanent transfer the following year. Having spent his entire professional career in England playing for Blackburn Rovers and Brentford, Raya helped Arsenal secure a historic Premier League title last season.

The Spanish goalkeeper has maintained his strong form into the current campaign. Manchester United legend Peter Schmeichel recently stated on The Overlap Daily that Arsenal would have been nowhere near winning the championship without Raya making crucial saves and improving significantly in coming for crosses.

Future Ambitions in Spain

Speaking to Marca, Raya opened up about his career aspirations and the possibility of returning to his home country. “Yes, I’d love to, I’d love to experience La Liga,” he stated.

He added that he is currently very happy in north London but believes the Spanish league is very competitive and expressed a natural desire to play for a Spanish club eventually. When an interviewer hinted that the white kit of Real Madrid would suit him, Raya kept his focus firmly on the present.

Raya outlined his objectives for the current campaign, stating that the team wants to establish themselves as favorites and improve on the previous season by lifting the UEFA Champions League trophy.
