Non-league clubs Altrincham and Cray Wanderers have been selected to stage the BBC’s two chosen FA Cup first-round ties in November.
Featured Matchups and Broadcast Details
National League side Altrincham will host former tournament winners Notts County at Moss Lane on Saturday, 7 November, with the match scheduled for 17:15 GMT on BBC Two and iPlayer, as reported by BBC Sport. The following day on Sunday, 8 November at 14:15 GMT, Bromley-based Cray Wanderers will welcome League One leaders Stockport County for their first-ever appearance at this stage of the competition.
Cray secured their historic spot by overcoming Bedford Town on penalties following a 2-2 draw in their replay. Recognized as London’s oldest football club, Cray pre-date the formation of the FA Cup in 1872. Meanwhile, Altrincham hold the record for giant-killings by a team that has never played in the Football League, boasting 17 previous victories against league opposition.
Notts County, founding members of the Football League in 1888 and winners of the Cup in 1894, exited at the same first-round stage last year following a penalty shootout defeat to Brackley.
